Where do Antleron innovations take shape?
Throughout Antleron's start-up phase, the total R&D space has steadily expanded into an integrated lab that now spans over 500 square meters (about the size of a basketball court).
The computational lab focuses on hybrid models, soft sensing, CFD simulations, economic modeling tools, and digital twins to evaluate and optimize bioprocess performance, monitoring, and control. This enables us to maximize in silico development before moving to experiments and prototyping. You can read more about our capabilities in a recently published paper and blog post. Innovations from this lab are crucial in reducing process development costs and ensuring manufacturing scalability and sustainability.
The bio lab supports Antleron fellows in researching and developing custom bioprocesses across a wide range of life science applications, with a focus on advanced and personalized therapies. It allows us to follow an iterative optimization approach, consistently generating and feeding back bio lab data into our risk analyses and simulations. The BSL-2 facilities and adjacent analytical labs enable our team to conduct R&D and pilot activities to develop bespoke cell-based bioprocesses.
From custom solution proof-of-concept to scalable production
Finally, to enable scalable next-generation bioprocesses, Antleron’s engineering lab specializes in medical 3D printing of bespoke solutions including microfluidic cartridges and smart biomanufacturing platforms for adherent cells. The resulting prototypes are validated iteratively as part of realistic bioprocesses we set up in our bio lab. As part of this real-life translation, our R&D pilot focuses on proof-of-concepts targeting bioprocess quality, scalability and economics to ensure a smooth transition from a custom lab scale towards, eventually, industrial-scale production.
Antleron has the specialists, methodologies, technologies and laboratories to research and develop bespoke, scalable bioprocess solutions.
